Hi, my name is Ruth and I’m a Green Badge tour guide in Cambridge. I run ‘Cambridge At Your Feet’, a small independent company which works only with qualified Blue and Green Badge guides - the only ones permitted to guide inside our most famous colleges.
All our tours are completely private, which means that your tour group will consist only of you and your family, friends and colleagues.

So why not get to know more about this extraordinary city on one of our entertaining, enjoyable and informative tours?

Eva Hartree, 1st female mayor of Cambridge
I first came to Cambridge as a student, and then followed an eventful working life which included teaching English in Japan, and working for the United Nations as an elections adviser in a wide range of countries.
After many interesting years of this work, I decided to settle in Cambridge and followed the year-long training course to become a qualified Green Badge guide. During my years of working as a tour guide, I have never tired of learning more about our lovely city and entertaining our visitors with fascinating Cambridge stories.
Ruth Meyer
Our tour guide, Ruth Meyer, did an excellent job, giving us input on the things we were passing as well as the two Colleges we toured, Queens’ and King’s. She was knowledgeable and gave us enough of the history to give us context, without overloading us. She was also alert to any special needs or interests in the group. This was exactly the kind of introduction to Cambridge we were looking for.
The walking tour today was awesome. Ruth, our guide, was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure we got all the major points covered.
This was the perfect introduction to the city. Ruth shared so many details and historical details that enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the colleges and the town. Easily worth the price!
Ruth was an absolutely wonderful guide, who was very knowledgeable, fun and cheery, and kept us enthralled as she gave us a superb introduction to the history of this lovely city. She was hands-down one of the best guides I have ever had on the many trips I've taken in the past.
We usually struggle with group tours – as a family of five, we go at our own pace and some of us need more time than others; so we thought to try a private tour this time in Cambridge. The best decision ever!! We loved the private tour with Ruth – by far the highlight of our day in Cambridge. Not only that we learnt a lot, but felt hugely inspired and energised by her passion for Cambridge and the wealth of culture and knowledge there.
Amazing, fun and learnt a lot from Ruth!
Living in Cambridge I thought I knew it all, I was wrong! Definitely worth the money!
Can highly recommend these tours. Our guide Ruth was extremely knowledgeable. She managed to get us in to look at one of the colleges which was very interesting. She made the tour fun for us all.
We really enjoyed Ruth's vast knowledge of Cambridge history. She was an excellent story teller. Interacted well with her audience and spiced her stories with a wonderful sense of british humour. One of the best things we did in Cambridge.
Thank you Ruth! A brilliant tour guide whose passion for Cambridge was infectious. Highly recommend.
