These are tours specially tailored to you.
Maybe you’re interested in a combination of tours, or in something rather different. If so, just let me know. We can discuss what sort of tour you would like, and how long you would like the tour to be. As well as the normal tour lengths of 1½ to 2½ hours, we can offer options of up to a whole day or even longer.
Based on our discussions, we will be delighted to put together a special tour just for you.
1½ hour tour | £130 |
2 hour tour | £145 |
2½ hour tour | £160 |
However, all colleges close to the public during the annual examination period which runs from late April to late June. King’s College Chapel remains open during this period, but the college grounds may be closed to visitors.
That’s no problem – just let me know what you would like to include and I will do my best to incorporate your interests into the tour.
Normally, a 50% deposit needs to be paid upon confirmation of the tour, with the final payment to be made at least one week in advance of the tour, through bank transfer.
I will send the details when you book.
If the timing or method of payment are a problem, please get in touch and we can discuss a different means or timing of payment.
It’s not a problem as long as I know in advance what your capabilities are, and I can then organise the tour to take these into account.
Our tours are normally in English, but should you wish for a tour in another language, our pool of excellent guides includes some who are fluent in French and/or German.
If you would like a tour in a different language, please let me know and I will do my best to find an excellent Green or Blue badge guide for you who can offer tours in that language.
We have no minimum group size but we do have a maximum of 12 for any one group, so that everyone has the best possible experience.
If there are more than 12 of you – no problem – two of our blue or green badge guides will give you tours with two smaller groups.
However, we can have a little flexibility on numbers: if you want to have one group of 13, 14, or even 15 people, we can accommodate that for a small additional cost.
College rooms are the private homes and offices of students and staff, which members of the public are, understandably, not allowed to enter.
Some college libraries will open for visitors by prior arrangement; let me know if this is of interest to you, and I will try to arrange a visit for you as part of the tour.
The University Library holds special exhibitions which are fully open to the public. It is also possible for visitors, by prior arrangement, to see holdings of the University Library in which they have a particular social or academic interest.
There are many wonderful things in Cambridge, but sadly the provision of public toilets does not fit into that category.
It would be best if you were to use your own facilities before setting out, as we do not normally stop during the tour, and colleges do not provide toilets for public use. However, let your guide know if you do need a break during the tour, and s/he will direct you to an appropriate facility.
If you cancel with more than 3 days (72 hours) notice, I will refund your money in full.
If you cancel with only 24 to 72 hours’ notice, I’m afraid that I will only be able to refund half the price of the tour, and for cancellations of less than 24 hours’ notice there is no refund.
If you need to postpone your tour or would like to bring it forward, I will do my very best to fit in with your revised schedule.
All Cambridge Green and Blue Badge guides have full public liability insurance, arranged through the Society of Cambridge Tourist Guides.
